Stage 1- Introduction:
By working closely with you, I define the primary project
goals, identify the target audience, and tailor the design
solution to your industry.
Stage 2 - Research:
I gather all available data content from you, such as company
profiles, product descriptions, or in-house publications,
brochures & logos. Thereafter, I research the Internet
and all other relevant information sources to familiarize
myself with your industry and your competition. I also spend
time researching the competition, both online and offline.
Stage 3 - Design
Concept:
During this stage, I begin the process of developing the site's
"metaphor," its aesthetics, the flow of content
throughout the site, the logical organization of the site's
information, and its functionality. These concepts are presented
to you for your evaluation and approval.
Stage 4 - Development:
With your approval of the Design Concept, I develop the site
in full using approved graphics, content, flash animations,
navigation, database design, etc. Of course, one of the questions
asked by new clients is "how long will it take to create
my site?" The answer is, "it depends." Specifically,
each client’s needs are different, and many needs present
unique challenges that may require more time than anticipated.
Regardless of the project's scope, I promise to use my best
efforts to create your site in a reasonable amount of time.
During the development process, Images and ideas are converted
to html and site structure and diagrams become code. Any additional
features such as database development, Flash animation and
other functionality will be integrated at this stage. In cases
where a site may require frequent updating, content management
systems are implemented that allow administrators to input
fresh content without prior knowledge of HTML.
Stage 5 - Testing/Launch:
I test your web site to ensure it is cross-browser compatible
and to evaluate its performance. This is the time when I may
"tweak" the site for performance gains. In simple
terms, I make sure your web site works on both Mac’s
and PC’s as well as all of the prevalent versions of
AOL, Internet Explorer and Netscape. Once testing is complete,
I submit the final site to you, (the client) for one last
look over and approval. If there are no other changes needed,
then I launch the web site and submit it to all the major
search engines. At this time your web site will be "Live"
and ready for the world to see.
